Alphasonics Picks Up Environmental Award

Alphasonics were crowned winners of the Global Green Award at the Label Industry Global Awards last week in Brussels, Belgium.  Noted for its contribution to the marketplace for the system's envornmental impact as well as disposal and energy cost savings, the Trojan beat stiff competition to pick up the award at a presitigious dinner held on the first night of the hugely succesful Labelexpo Europe 2011 exhibition.

Managing Director, David Jones was on hand to collect the award.  "We're absolutely thrilled to have been selected as the winners for this award." said Jones.  "The  system was the result of a long research and development program.  For it to be recognised in this way gives me a great sense of pride in what we have and will strive to continually acheive at Alphasonics."

The AS1000 is a two stage parts washing system utilising ultrasound and aggessive spray nozzles which effectively remove ink contamination.  The wash water is introduced to the the process of flocculation to take ink pigments out of suspension and subsequently passed through a filtration unit. 

This process leaves a solid ink mass and clear water which can be re-used in the system, saving energy and disposal costs.  The payback potential of the system, along with its environmental contribution lead the to it being judged as the winner of the Green category.
